Region
Paraguay
In spite of its reduced area, this country has a rich wildlife and a variety of habitats. It is dissected by the Paraguay River, with the Chaco to the west, and the “Oriente” to the East. The first is a large area of woodlands and marshes that becomes dryer as one proceeds to the West. The latter has tracts of “Cerrado” savannas and rainforests. A number of reserves give you the chance to visit their best preserved secrets and to observe a number of threatened species. This tropical destination will surprise you with how much it has to offer. |
